The Plumbing Manager oversees the daily operations, staff, and financial performance of a plumbing team or division. They bridge the gap between field technicians and upper management, making sure jobs are safe, legal, and profitable.
Responsibilities
The job duties below include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise, train, and mentor plumbing staff to ensure quality workmanship and professional growth.
- Schedule and assign plumbing jobs, ensuring resources and timelines are effectively managed
- Provide purpose, clear goals and direction, and motivation to your team
- Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems for residential, commercial, or industrial projects
- Manage the performance of the team and hold them accountable to standards
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company policies
- Address customer issues, provide technical guidance, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Review work orders for accuracy, clarity, and profitability
- Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, coordinating with suppliers as needed
- Conduct inspections to verify quality and safety of work performed
- Prepare and present reports on department performance, costs and productivity
- Stay updated on plumbing technology, methods, and regulatory changes
- Review timesheets and commissions for accuracy and to manage overtime
- Build relationships cross-departmentally and with partner organizations
- You will be rewarded personally for the success of the trade line
- Takes ownership and initiative; passion to lead and achieve
- 5 plus years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Valid plumbing license and certifications as required by local/state regulations
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software is a plus
- Open to learning and working with technology and data to make decisions.
- Ability to work outdoors
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
